The Public Works Department contributes to the City’s mission by providing superior public services such as:  maintaining and improving the condition of our streets, ensuring new development is constructed properly, providing excellent delivery of capital projects, maintaining and operating our traffic signals in a safe and effective manner, keeping our storm drain systems well maintained, collecting solid waste in a predictable and consistent manner, and finally, being environmental stewards of the community, and promoting and educating our residents regarding the need to protect our environment for future generations.

Earth Day Arbor Day Logo 

The City of Mission Viejo will be celebrating Earth Day and Arbor Day on Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. to noon at the Village Green at Oso Viejo Park and Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center.  To register as a volunteer for planting or clean-up at Oso Creek, please fill out the Volunteer Application and Waiver form.  If you are interested in having an exhibitor's booth at the Green Expo, please fill out the Green Expo Exhibitor Application and Waiver form.  Waste Management of Orange County will be hosting a Compost Giveaway at the Norman P. Murray Center beginning at 8:00 a.m. until supplies run out.  If you would like free compost, please bring a shovel and container (up to 35 gallons per Mission Viejo residence).  For more information, please contact Denise Matson at 949-470-3010.

Report Polluters :

The City of Mission Viejo is dedicated to preventing the pollution of our creeks and the ocean. If you see someone dumping anything into the street, gutter, or storm drain that could harm the environment, please report the incident immediately at Access MV 24/7.

Residential Resurfacing

The Residential Resurfacing Program is an annual program for resurfacing public streets in designated residential areas and is operated on a 7-year cycle.  To check when your street was last resurfaced, view the City's Residential Resurfacing List or view the areas included in the 2012 Residential Resurfacing Program.

Arterial Resurfacing

The Arterial Highway Resurfacing Program provides for the resurfacing of City arterial streets.  To check when an arterial street was last resurfaced, view the City's Arterial Highway Resurfacing List.
